With Easter back again it’s time for all the fun that comes with it. Of course it is a religious function that we celebrate as God’s love and blessings. However, the fun side of Easter makes for a lot of preparation and coming together of friends and families every year. A time for celebration and joy. It is that time of the year when we spread cheer and love around. It is the time for Easter bunnies and eggs, decorations, candies and so much more.

Easter eggs

Easter day always brings to mind Easter eggs. So let’s look at something different to do while colouring the eggs for Easter day celebration! You will need –

  • Eggs 12
  • White vinegar 2 teaspoons
  • Food colouring 40 drops
  • Crayons white and stickers to decorate the eggs

This is fun

Hard boil the eggs in a large pan with water enough to cover the eggs. Then bring to a boil for 3-4 minutes and turn off the heat. Keep the pan covered and set aside for ten minutes. Once cool you can start the colouring and decoration.

Add a cup of water into a glass bowl and combine the food colouring and vinegar and stir. Add colours of your choice and have different bowls with different colours if you so desire.

Decorate the eggs with crayons and stickers and let your imagination flow while doing so.

Take a spoon and dip the eggs into the coloured water until evenly coated. Thereafter carefully place on a rack to dry.

This is a great way to involve the kids as they would love to decorate the eggs in their own special way.

Goodie basket

Another must have at Easter is a goodie basket which could be the best part of Easter day. Here is something different from the usual candy basket. Why don’t you buy buckets or sand pails from the store and fill them with a variety of goodies and surprises that can be used and played with well after Easter. Children will really love this little surprise. If you can keep a rabbit theme it could be even more fun. Fix a bunny picture on to the bucket and fill it with crayons or paints, colouring books, candy, small toys, reading books, little trinkets for the girls and so much more can be added in.

Balloons for the Easter spirit

Blow up balloons in different colours and strew them around the place. Paint on them little bunny mouths or put stickers on them to complete the Easter look!
